Welcome to the Engaging Students Wiki

Doxa Youth Foundation's mission is to create opportunities for disadvantaged young people by investing in education related programs that help them achieve their potential and meaningfully participate in the community.

We do this through our Cadetship Program which enables disadvantaged young people to undertake tertiary education, through Doxa School Melbourneand Doxa School Bendigo who re-engage at risk students in education and Doxa Malmsbury and City Camps for disadvantaged schools.

In 2008 we received a grant from the auDa Foundation to establish the Engaging Students Wiki.

Together with a range of organisations we built this wiki with the aim of:

  • Providing a database of alternative settings for students who do not cope in mainstream settings
  • Providing a space for educators to locate programs that assist with engaging students
  • Raising awareness and understanding of issues around engaging at risk students
  • Promoting research and discourse on issues related to young people who become disengaged at school and are at risk of leaving school early.

The Wiki is a dynamic tool that will continue to grow and develop. We hope that all who use it find it valuable.
