Kirsten Bickendorf, CEO

Combining a wealth of business experience with her passion for the community sector Kirsten has over 14 years of experience in community investment and corporate social responsibility. In her role as General Manager of United Way (the world's largest not for profit) and the Lord Mayor's Charitable Fund, Kirsten's clients were some of the world's largest companies and was responsible for creating outstanding community investment programs.
Kirsten also knows how the community sector works and because of that is able to guide and support companies through the complexity of the sector.
Kirsten has extensive experience in executive communications and management and has also served on the Board of the Eating Disorders Foundation and many others over the years.
Kirsten has been involved in a range of social issues including children in detention, trafficking and youth issues. She is a mentor to a young woman and in her role at Doxa Youth Foundation Kirsten works closely with young people who are at risk of dropping out of the education system for a range of social and financial disadvantages. With her team Kirsten helps equip and empower young people to reach their full potential.

 

Megan Moore, Principle Doxa School West Melbourne and Finalist in Herald Sun Teacher of the Year 2008

Megan Moore has been the principal of the Doxa School West Melbourne since its inception in 2000. She is in this position because of her experience of and commitment to working with "at risk" students in years 5 to 7. She has 20 years experience working with students with special needs and has a passionate belief that all students should have every opportunity to achieve their potential and goes out of her way to ensure that those opportunities are available to students at her school.

Megan is a gifted public speaker and delivers "Making Adjustments" a professional development program for teachers in mainstream schools. This program assists teachers to recognise students who are at risk of becoming disengaged at school and learning how to meet their needs to prevent further problems.
