Summer Camps

Doxa's Summer Camp Program gives young people aged 10-12 years, whose families are unable to afford a holiday, the opportunity of five days in the beautiful rural setting of Malmsbury.
Parents, carers, schools and Family Service Providers nominate children who would most benefit from a summer camp experience.

The camps, which run from Monday to Friday, are held in January. Up to 50 children from across Victoria attend each camp, supervised by the Doxa Program Coordinator and nine youth leaders.
The leaders come from teaching and outdoor education backgrounds. Before being employed by Doxa, they undergo an induction course on Doxa policies and procedures and complete a Police Check and First Aid Level Two. In accordance with new government policy, all camp staff will have a Working with Children Check.

The summer camp experience is fun and challenging and the program of activities is varied. They include cross country mountain biking, volleyball and team sports, as well as trips to Kyneton Pool and Sovereign Hill.

Many new friendships are made and the children go home invigorated and refreshed.
