malmsbury

The Doxa Malmsbury Camp provides children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with the opportunity to participate in an innovative, educational and enriching camp experience that their life circumstances might otherwise preclude.

The camp was officially opened in September 1976 and was Doxa's first major youth program. The campsite is located about 14 kilometres from Malmsbury on 1.7 hectares of lightly timbered land.

The camp accommodates up to 71 people. Each year, children from disadvantaged backgrounds attend with their school or community organisation to enjoy a bush camping experience. The usual length of stay is two nights/three days. There is one purpose built bedroom that is wheelchair accessible.

Teachers/leaders are accommodated in separate rooms with en-suites.

Doxa highly subsidises the cost of the camp ensuring that it is affordable to all children and young people.

The Doxa Malmsbury Camp is accredited by the Australian Camping Association Inc. through the Australian Campsite Accreditation Program.
